FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The Healey-Driscoll Administration and Massachusetts Technology Collaborative’s (MassTech) Center for Advanced Manufacturing (CAM) announced Tuesday $4,589,788 in grants to 29 manufacturers through the Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP). The initiative will enable small- to medium-sized Bay State manufacturing firms to purchase capital equipment and expand capacity to meet the demands of next-generation industry sectors.
MassTech announced the awards at the fifth annual Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up, an event hosted by CAM that welcomes companies, students and state officials to explore opportunities and build partnerships in the manufacturing sector.
The 2025 Mash-Up included a speed networking session focused on community college students, a panel discussion about workforce needs and bridging the hiring gap in manufacturing, and an awards ceremony hosted by the Massachusetts Legislative Manufacturing Caucus.
“The Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up is paving the way for a strong and connected manufacturing sector by providing an essential forum for companies, innovators and future talent to engage and collaborate,” said Governor Maura Healey. “Our state is lucky to have such a well-rounded ecosystem. MMAP is enabling the growth and modernization of manufacturers across Massachusetts.”
“MMAP and the Massachusetts Manufacturing Mash-Up are two essential components for building a stronger manufacturing economy in our state,” said Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll. “By fostering cooperation and making strategic investments in the sector, we are helping businesses remain competitive and creating good jobs in the process.”
“Through this round of MMAP grants, the Healey-Driscoll Administration is supporting manufacturers of all sizes from the Berkshires to Cape Cod,” said Massachusetts Economic Development Secretary Eric Paley. “By providing manufacturers with the tools and technology they need to compete globally, we are securing a strong industrial future for the state.”
MMAP grants will fund equipment and technology upgrades to help these companies improve efficiency, increase output, and integrate automation into their production. The funding will support the creation of up to 153 jobs and upskill up to 164 employees statewide. All MMAP grantees will receive funds through one of five nonprofit partners: MassMEP, the Venture Forum, Berkshire Innovation Center, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute and the Blackstone Valley Hub for Workforce Development.

“MMAP scales manufacturing and empowers businesses with the resources to adopt technology, advance their production efficiency and upskill their employees,” said CAM Director Lily Fitzgerald. “This year, we have expanded the program’s capacity to meet the growing manufacturing sector. CAM has raised the maximum award amount and added an accelerator cohort to further support these businesses and enable peer-to-peer learning needs. As a result, the updated program will build a smarter manufacturing sector statewide.”
The Mash-Up featured the launch of a subsequent round of MMAP funding, which will provide a maximum award of $300,000, scaled matching requirements, a paid assessment to identify key equipment needs, accelerator activities and more.
